Lockwood has the ability to design and manufacture
individual bread pans and bread sets in numerous styles,
configurations, and sizes. Standard types include Open
Top, Dual Purpose, Pullman, and Hearth pans that can be
made in either folded end or seamless drawn styles. A
range of standard and optional features is available for all
bread set types. The Lockwood sales and engineering
staff is available to recommend pan sizes, overall
dimensions, and necessary pan features.

Covers are available for Pullman and Sandwich bread
sets, in a variety of designs, and also with a range of
standard and optional features.

Custom Bread Pan Standard Features

Material
26 Gauge Aluminized Steel
#5 (.207” Diameter) Steel Wire In
Pan Rim to strengthen the pan rim area.

Bandiron
1-5/8" Aluminized Steel, roll
formed with butt-welded splice and
projection welded to the pans:
Placed Over Wire for maximum
stability and protection of pan set,
or Under Wire for possible
improved sanitation and improved
cover fit.

Large Bottom Radius Balled Corners
Pans can be nested easier with
less chance of scratching inside
corners; travel better over
conveyors without damaging rollers
or belts. Improves bread wrapping
with a rounded contour that will not
tear the wrapper.

2 Braces Per Space
Assure and maintain uniform
spacing of loaves within the set.

Pan Set Arrangement
Normally strapped in single row
arrangements of 3 to 6 pans per
set, Lockwood can also
manufacture bread sets in other
configurations as required by the
customer.

Custom Bread Pan Optional Features

Material
22 Gauge Aluminized Steel or 22 Gauge Tin Plate.

Bandiron
1-15/16" Bandiron for deep and oversized bread sets.

Tension Bow Ribs
Provide additional strength and act as a stiffener to the
strapping. Can also prevent inward bow on the set
ends.

Corrugations
Corrugations help improve a pan’s resistance to impact
damage, strengthen the bottom edge of the pan, and
help maintain proper shape of the pan bottom.
Corrugations also help minimize damage caused by
stacking and other manual operations.
The benefits to the loaf include stronger bread loaf
sidewalls for better slicing and tighter wrapping, and
improved release of the loaf from the pan.
Corrugation styles include:

  • 45 Degree All Over

  • 45 Degree All Over with Centre Bottom Plain

  • 45 Degree Bottom Edges Only

  • Quilted

  • Uncorrugated Top Edges

Other special requests are also available

UTI Perforations
Relieve the cause of cupped bottoms and weak, under-
baked sidewalls by permitting trapped air and gas within
the pan to escape.

Convexed Ends
Allow loaves to shrink to a flat shape during baking. This
results in easier slicing and wrapping.

Convexed Sidewalls
Compensate for loaf shrinkage during cooling, and helps
produce a straight and smooth sidewall. Available in
pyramid or dome styles.

Embossed Holes
3/32” Diameter holes are embossed in pan bottoms to
allow for release of trapped gases. This feature reduces
interior holes and bottom cupping of the loaf.

Custom Pullman Pan Optional Features

All features available on Bread Pans are also
available on Pullman Pans.
Strap nesting adapters can be adjusted to
allow different nesting lines.

Available Configurations:

  • 2-Piece Strap Nesting
    Adapter

  • 4-Piece Strap Nesting
    Adapter

  • Bottom Strapping (All
    Around Bottom of Set)

For heat circulation

Slit Bridge Grommet Construction
Adds structural strength and reduces warping and tension

Stackable Construction

Custom Cover Optional Features

Pyramid Convex Over Loaf
Area

To obtain a flat top after cooling
and shrinkage.

Perforations Over Loaf Area
Allow for the escape of gas to
reduce inward bow. Perforations
are available in different
arrangements or patterns.

Chevron Corrugations
To increase rigidity of the cover
and to add strength to the top of
the loaf.

Nesting Construction
